Duck,
NOW you got my attention....... [Laugh]
sounds like your going from "lampwork" to a Hot Shop.........I LIKE IT. Can't wait to follow the progress. 18" glory hole...........is a "big'un". Can we assume that you'll also be building your own melting furnace, annealing ovens, blowers bench, marver table.... etc? Man I wish I lived closer.

Good stuff PT, ordered this one tonight http://www.pineridgeburner.com/ [Happy]

I thought about some of you guys today, and I'm gonna try and keep up with a photo play-by-play build of an18" Glory Hole I started today....the Gory Hole is alot like a forge......

[Peace}

With some modifications this might make a kick butt forge [Smile]

….I’m waiting on some actuators for the doors before I finish the interior lining.
this other photo is a work bench.

<img src=' /> Man Duck looking good, Don't want to have the gas bill with that size one . But it should get the job done no matter what you use it for.
The benches look to be first rate too. Onward and in to the Heat!

Those ribbon burners are supposed to be fairly economical, but that is indeed a big unit! I'd be interested in hearing what your gas consumption is like on that thing Duck.

hey you guys I’m not so sure it’ll be all that bad, this thing will net an 18" dia x 36” long cylinder shaped heated area…not all that big really. The idea I guess is to get a more even heat and that’s hopefully done with the insulation(6”), ribbon burner, and the pressured pre-mix fuel delivery…that and it only has to operate at about 1950f….we’ll see <img src=' />

the furnace (melts the glass) will be electric!!!<img src=' />[Smile] yeeehaaa

I'll say one thing Duck, you don't mess around! I love it when you get a project going and share with us here. Can't wait to see how it all turns out and what you turn out with it!
