David, I have been trying to figure out a way to make the book titles more easily viewed for the members and guests. The best idea, I tried with that title, but I hadn't realized that we can't move one post from one forum to another forum with out an excessive amount of steps and time to do it!

The solution I have come up with will be a heading, title, post number and link page. This will be for each forum, subject matter etc. This will be a winter task. Since this forum is new and there are only 3 titles that I can think of that really relate to form folding. I will start with this one.

As the family medicab driver, and families home maintenance, snow removal permits. With another member(87 YO) being removed from the actively doing chores list. I will be increasing,my on call time.

So it may take awhile, I'm hoping that the weather guesser's are correct this year and we have less snow. Both in amounts and frequency, At least the rain you don't have to shovel.

So, if I understand you correctly, you plan to put a new sticky thread in each forum that contains links to the book reviews that are relevant to that forum. Great idea! BeerBeer

Do you know that you can link directly to a particular post within a thread? Just in case you (or someone else) doesn't know how to do that, go to the thread, go to the post, and click on the post number (upper right corner of the post, in the blue line). Use the URL that's in the address line and the link will go directly to that post.
Yep that's the idea only I will add the title, author, post number and the link. So they can find out by "search" if the book has been reviewed.also they can get all the information to get it at their local Book store or on line.

Ok the first prototype is up so what does everybody think? I will go through the remaining and sort them out over the winter as time allows. If you have one you would like to add please add it in the book thread and pm me I will add it in the proper forum with the info and link!

Makes a lot of sense to me. The original book thread has gotten soooooo long that it's hard to wade through the whole thing, despite a lot of good info there.
Well the longest book reviews list is up in the welding forum. Let me know if any one finds a no working link or anything else.

Beer Thanks for your efforts Glen. Beer This should make it easier to find books on specific processes.
Beer Thanks Tony,
In addition for those that would like to add a book to the thread. Please add it to the end of the book thread. As all the forum link lists will be closed to avoid a future house keeping chores. Also for those that are new to the forum, All the books that are reviewed are books that I own and collected over the last 40 years. The list is by no means a list of the only books on the subject matter.

There are more books than I will be able to read etc. Again the number of and subjects will reflect my interests.

And now for the disclaimer, none of the books are readers or freebies. I will tell you if the book isn't worth it. Granted most of the Sales BS on line is truthful, some is hype to just sell books. All the opinions are the opinions of the posters.

Love the book links, awesome. Thanks to all involved.
I know it has been mentioned before deep within the book review section but perhaps it could be added to the list in the blacksmith section. Mark Aspery's two books and the Machinist Handbook aka "the bible".
If somebody wants to review Marks book feel free to do so. it currently isn't in the pile I have to add, or read yet. There is one of the handbook, and the pocket handbook. They haven't been linked to a forum yet. I'm doing this as I have time available.
Peace!
