Hello, new to the forum. I am wondering if anyone knows how to achieve the color finish like the one shown in the pic. I normally leave a sanded finish on my work so I don't know what type of paint or other method would work best. Thanks

If thats steel, it looks like a red solvent die to me. If you do a search for solvent dies here, you will turn up more info.

to the forum, solvent dyes will leave a color. If its something other than steel it might be a transparent lacquer, with a top gloss coat, well even if it steel it could be a transparent lacquer.
As with any coating its all in the preparation and cleaning of the surface.
It probably does have some type of top coat no matter what the coating if it is an outdoor piece.
Here is another paint type product
link to the page
It can be removed with acetone,
There is also
a specialty paint
You can also check your local big box auto store for the dupli color transparent paints

It could also be one of those "candy coating" powder coats.
Thats what it looks like to me, hard to know without touching it.
Could it be red anodized aluminum?
Could be copper heat treated, with a clear coat. I'm leaning toward annodized aluminum. Brad
I was playing with this paint on this yard art -- with the right metal finish underneath, this paint might give you the effect you're looking for. And for less than $5.

Ooh, that's nice - like solvent dye in a spray can!
And it comes in purple and blue too!! I would like to see some green.
