In some of the knife fourms I've been in, they sometimes have shop tours and show pictures of their tools and work areas. I just love to see other artist's work shops. I get a lot of ideas from seeing what kind of trick setups and home made tool they have. who knows, maybe I will start something here.
Well its a little messy but its about as clean as it will ever get.

Ironmonger,
Great to see pictures of your shop; I hope more folks will follow suit. I was just thinking about starting a thread with the same subject. Now that Rocio has shown me how to resize my photos, I'll try and get a tour of my mess, shop that is, soon. That ring roller looks almost grown; what size stock can you roll? Like your paint sandblast area also. Is that a motor drive of some sort on your crane? what does it do

Right now I have the gear box on my Grizzly 6x10 horizontal bandsaw apart and strewn all about the shop, and the damage is much worse that I had hoped. The problem with a gear drive saw is that if the blade hangs, something has to give; and in this case it looks like most of the gear train. Wish me luck,

Dave, looking forward to more shop photos.
Great shop! If it was totally organized you probably couldn't find anything!
Well it's not much of a shop, YET, but it is on it way. Big GrinBig Grin

This is what you get with a small bribe, and a couple of friends, and the better part of a Saturday.

It is where I had hoped to be, and the rest of the purlins will get put up tomorrow. It was a LONG day, but as tired and beat up as I am, it was a great day. Big GrinPunkRock on
Wow Spider thats a beautiful peice of property. I wish I had room to put up something like that. Is it a pre fab building or did you make it?
Thanks for showing the photos.Beer
I bought the trusses from a guy about 9 miles from the house. I pretty much designed the building myself. 12 foot sidewalls, 4/12 pitch roof, 30x40 concrete and 30x30 of that enclosed. That will leave a 10 covered area at the front for sittin' and grillin' and and what ever else needs to taken care of outside.
I promised David S a tour....
