Very nice work. With the glass in the hanging lights, is it round tubes of glass or is it strips of glass? I tried to find round tubes of glass awhile ago and couldn't find any.

Hey David;
I’ve looked your web site over again and am still very impressed with the work you do.
Again, I’m just babbling here and have tooted the electro plated finish as an option probably all too often, but I can’t help seeing the sales advantage an electro plate finish would be for some of you guys that do the high end quality art and metal fab. In California platers are a dime a dozen and I would think you’d get it done at a fair price. your pulls and handles for instance would have a superior weather resistant finish compared to what would ordinarily be powder coated steel or paint…(eventually rust)..in effect they would be copper parts and just think of the potential patinas etc. I used to plate iron balusters for a national company..Crown Heritage and Regency wanted me to do there’ so I know the demand for that finish is real.
Okee doekee..I’m done…off the soap box and back to work Hysterical

Just curious bubba duck [hysterical]love your new handle.
and speaking of handles.....how does the plating hold up on drawer pulls and handles that ........well ......get "handled" a lot? I've always thought of "plating" as relatively thin. How long will it hold up......say in a Front Door handle application? IF the design has say......a decorative twist where the high spots would receive the majority of the "wear"? Inquiring minds want to know......we may have to talk in Madison at the conference. Punk
Most all store bought door hardware is plated, same with plumbing fixtures. I particularly like the braded door pulls Jackobson’s made and has on his site, if they were mine I’d sand blast the heck out of em (pit them up good) and then polish the high spots, plate em’ in nickel for the corrosion deal and then copper. As far as thickness goes, find someone with acid copper tanks would be best, thi8nk of acid copper as kinda like an automotive primer surfacer,.. it can be built up real thick..  I think most folks are under the impression plating is pricy,, but that’s because of all the labor to smooth and polish the steel, I’ve said this before I know, but, if all the guy has to do is rack, electro clean, nickel, copper, there is hardly any labor involved, in other words J’s dr. pulls shouldn’t cost anymore than 100 bucks and that’s on the high side. Of all the art and metal work I’ve seen the past yr. or so (internet) I can’t remember ever seeing anything plated and it just seems like an opportunity for some of the fancy hardware, fire place screens, art, etc. to have a richer finish…..bla bla bla …okay I’m through...the coffees gone Cry
